How LAHA turned a brochure site into 475 tracked conversions

Twenty-four conversions in a year is a site nobody visits. Twelve months later it was recording 475, from 18,425 users instead of 265.

01 — The challenge

Forty years of clinical authority, and an audience of almost nobody.

Lung & Allergy Health Associates provides pulmonary, allergy and immunology care in Long Beach, California — adult and paediatric asthma, food allergy programmes, allergy testing, sublingual and subcutaneous immunotherapy, immune deficiency and transition-to-adult-care. Patients search by symptom, by condition and by treatment, and often after a referral they want to understand.

The site had 265 tracked users and 24 conversions across the prior twelve months. At that scale there is nothing to conclude from the data: conversion testing is meaningless, channel analysis is noise, and the only honest diagnosis is that nobody is arriving. Forty years of clinical credibility was invisible to anyone who had not already been referred.

“For a long time the website was something we pointed patients to, not something that brought us any. Now it does the introducing, and the people who call already understand what we treat.”

Illustrative quote — written by Web Tonic to put the results above in an owner’s words. It is not a statement provided by the client.

Traffic first, conversion second. Optimising a page that 265 people see a year is arithmetic, not marketing.

02 — Our approach

Create the audience, then make the site earn from it.

The programme started from search demand: the conditions, treatments and patient situations people actually type — paediatric asthma, food allergy testing, immunotherapy options — and a page for each that could be the best answer rather than a line on a services list.

Then content depth, which in medicine is also a credibility requirement: what the condition is, how it is diagnosed, what the treatment involves, what the first visit looks like. Thin pages do not rank and do not convert, and they fail in that order.

Technically, the site was made unambiguous — one page per intent, internal links pointing at the page meant to win, medical and practice schema, and crawl paths cleaned so new content was found quickly.

Only once traffic existed did conversion work make sense: an obvious path to booking an appointment, reachable contact routes and properly tracked events, which is how a site that recorded 24 conversions came to record 475.

03 — What we did

Demand-led pages, real clinical depth, clean structure, then conversion work.

Every step in the sequence would have failed if run out of order.

Demand-led pages

Built a page for each condition and treatment searched

Paediatric asthma, food allergy programmes, allergy testing and immunotherapy each got a page capable of being the best answer, replacing lines on a services list.

Clinical depth

Answered what a referred patient needs to know

What the condition is, how it is diagnosed, what treatment involves and what the first visit looks like. In medicine, depth is both a ranking factor and a trust signal.

Technical clarity

Conversion work

Made the new traffic reachable and measurable

A clear path to booking, visible contact routes and properly tracked events — applied after there was traffic to convert, not before.
