L'Exterminateur en Ligne · Pest-control products e-commerce · SEO — organic search · 2026
How a pest-control store grew to 32,988 organic clicks a year
Selling the products instead of the visit changes the search problem entirely. The customer is not looking for a technician. He is looking for the thing that kills the insect in his kitchen.

01 — The challenge
An e-commerce store competing with the service companies it undercuts.
L'Exterminateur en Ligne is not an extermination company. It is a Quebec business that sells professional-grade pest-control products online, so a homeowner can treat the problem himself instead of booking a technician.
That puts it in the same search results as extermination service companies with far bigger budgets, all bidding for the same pest terms — and those companies want the visit, not the sale. The store has to convince someone mid-panic that the do-it-yourself route actually works.
“Someone with carpenter ants in the wall wants them gone tonight, not an appointment next Tuesday. My job is to prove the product on my shelf is the same one the technician would arrive with.”
So the content had to teach the treatment, not just list the bottle.
02 — Our approach
Pest-by-pest treatment guides that end at the right product.
Coverage was organised by pest and by treatment rather than by product category, because that is the search: the insect first, the chemistry second.
Each guide has to carry real instructional weight — identification, timing, application, safety — and then hand off to the specific product that does the job. That is what separates it from a service company's thin pest page.
Impressions grew 47% and clicks 20%, so the store now appears for far more queries than it did a year ago — and closing the gap between appearing and being chosen is the compounding opportunity from here.
03 — What we did
Pest-led architecture, instructional depth, category consolidation.
Teaching the treatment so the product sells itself.
Pest-led architecture
Organised the site by insect, not by product line
Buyers search the pest, never the active ingredient. The structure was rebuilt to match that, with products sitting beneath the pest that justifies them.
Instructional depth
Made the guides worth ranking above a service page
Identification, timing, application and safety, written to be genuinely usable — the reason a do-it-yourself page can beat a national service brand.
Footprint expansion
Grew impressions 47% to 2.71 million
The store now surfaces for far more pest queries than it did a year ago, which is where the click growth will come from next.
Honest measurement
Search Console only, GA4 excluded
GA4 sessions here are all-channel and cannot support an organic claim. The transactions series is not published at all.
04 — The results
Twelve matched months: +20% organic clicks, +47% impressions.
