How a new accounting practice earned page-two visibility in its first year
A new professional-services site starts with no history, no links and no local trust signals. The first year is about becoming findable at all, in a category where competitors have been indexed for a decade.

01 — The challenge
A brand-new site in a category with a ten-year head start.
Farrukh Ahmed CPA is an accounting and tax practice in Mississauga. When tracking began in March 2025 the site averaged position 50.1 in Google against 1,208 impressions — effectively invisible, which is the normal starting point for a new domain.
Accounting search is also seasonal and trust-driven: the queries spike around filing deadlines, and the people searching are choosing who will see their financials. Visibility and credibility have to arrive together.
“Nobody hands their taxes to the tenth result. We had to be somewhere people could actually find us, and look like a real practice when they got there.”
Illustrative quote — written by Web Tonic to put the results above in an owner’s words. It is not a statement provided by the client.
So the first year was measured on ranking depth and on how often the business appeared in local search and maps.
02 — Our approach
Build the local footprint and the ranking depth in parallel.
Ranking depth. Average position moved from 50.1 in the first tracked month to 23.97 by December 2025 and 17.01 by March 2026, through the filing season when the queries matter most.
Clicks on matched months. Organic clicks came to 500 against 322 in the matched months of the year before, up 55.3%, with a best month of 135 in March 2026 against 12 at the start.
The local surface. Google Business Profile search impressions grew 92.7% on mobile (4,909 vs 2,548) and 166.0% on desktop (4,301 vs 1,617) year over year, and profile website clicks peaked at 124 in March 2026.
