ChatGPT Ads Agency

A ChatGPT ads agency for the newest paid surface in performance marketing.

newest paid channel

ChatGPT ads are live. Not coming, not in January — live, inside the assistant a billion people now use every week, sold through the OpenAI ads manager on a CPC basis with conversion-optimised bidding in beta. We are a ChatGPT ads agency that runs this surface the way we run paid search and paid social: one measurement spine, one cross-channel performance view, and a ChatGPT ads strategy that earns budget from your existing channels instead of quietly duplicating them. You get the product feed, the pixel, the geo targeting and the reporting built properly the first time — before your competitors work out that the paid placements exist.

WORKSTREAMS

Four workstreams decide whether ChatGPT ads pay.

Four workstreams

A new paid surface fails for boring reasons: the feed is wrong, the pixel is half-wired, the creative is a recycled paid social ad, and nobody can prove the channel did anything. Our ChatGPT ads management covers the four that matter — measurement, catalogue and feed, campaign build inside the ChatGPT ads manager, and the cross-channel performance read that decides whether the spend keeps its budget next month.

Cross-channel performance

The pixel and the matching go in before the first click is bought.

The ChatGPT web pixel is the whole basis of optimisation on this channel, and Automatic Advanced Matching now ships on by default for new pixels — which means the quality of the data you send decides the quality of the optimization you get. We install the pixel, map your conversion events to the ones that actually carry revenue, wire the dynamic URL parameters for campaign, ad group and ad IDs so every session lands in analytics attributed, and connect the integrations you already run — Triple Whale, Hightouch, Sonar Optimize. Measurement first is not a philosophical position here; without it conversion-optimised CPC has nothing to learn from. Our support model puts the same analyst who built the tracking on your weekly call, so a broken event is a conversation and not a support ticket.

  • Triple Whale, Hightouch and Sonar Optimize integration

Product feed campaigns are won in the catalogue, not the ad.

Product feed campaigns build the ad from your catalogue, so the catalogue is the creative. Titles, images, price and availability all become the thing a buyer reads at a high-intent moment inside a conversation — and OpenAI, not you, decides whether that renders as a single product ad or the multi-product carousel now in testing. We audit and restructure the feed for this surface specifically, split product sets by margin and intent rather than by whatever your store exports, and keep availability honest so spend never lands on something you cannot ship. Feed relevance is the single biggest lever on this surface, and the digital shelf experience it creates is what a buyer judges you on.

  • Feed audit and title/image rework for LLM surfaces
  • Product sets split by margin and intent
  • Availability and price hygiene monitoring

Conversion-optimised CPC on feed campaigns (beta)

Building inside the OpenAI ads manager, to its real constraints.

This is not the Meta ads manager and pretending otherwise is how budget gets burned. There are no lookalike audiences, no interest targeting and no video ads here. What exists is CPC buying, conversion-optimised CPC in beta, geographic targeting within a country since July 2026, single product ads and product feed campaigns, shown to Free and Go plan users and clearly labelled at the bottom of the conversation. Winning ChatGPT ads are built for that surface: short, specific, answering the question the user just asked rather than shouting over it. The experience we bring from Google Shopping and paid social transfers here; the assumptions do not.

  • Campaign, ad group and creative build in the ChatGPT ads manager
  • ChatGPT ads geo targeting inside each live market
  • CPC and oCPC bid management with weekly pacing

CPC

Buying model — no CPM brand buying yet

Judged against paid search and paid social, not on its own.

An LLM-driven assistant sits between your buyer and the open web, which means ChatGPT ads compete with paid search for the same intent and interact with your organic and content strategy at the same time. We report results inside one cross-channel performance model against paid search, paid social, programmatic and organic, so you can see whether incremental revenue arrived or whether spend simply moved. That read is also what tells us when to scale, when to hold and when to hand the budget back to Google. As your partner we would rather lose a line item than defend one — growth across all your paid and organic channels is the number we are hired on, including the brand visibility your SEO team is building.

  • One reporting model across paid search, paid social and ChatGPT
  • Incrementality checks before any scale decision
  • Monthly budget reallocation on marginal efficiency

01 — The challenge

The channel is new. The way budget gets wasted on it is not.

Every new paid surface arrives with the same sequence. Early inventory is cheap because almost nobody is bidding, a handful of brands take unusually good CPCs for a few months, then the auction fills and the advantage disappears. ChatGPT ads are at the start of that curve right now: live for advertisers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, with Brazil and Mexico rolling out, in front of an assistant that passed a billion active users in July 2026. What is missing is not audience. It is anybody who has run the channel long enough to know where it breaks.

“We turned ChatGPT ads on in a week and turned them off in three. Nobody could tell us whether the revenue was new.”

That is the actual failure mode, and it is a measurement failure, not a media failure. Ads at the bottom of a conversation get clicked by people who were mid-question — high intent moments, poor last-click stories. If the pixel is not carrying Automatic Advanced Matching, if the URL parameters are not populating campaign and ad group in analytics, and if the channel is reported next to paid search rather than inside the same model, then every honest answer about incrementality is unavailable and the case loses an argument it should have won. We build the measurement spine first and the campaigns second, in that order, on every account.

02 — Our approach

Wire the measurement. Buy small. Prove it. Then scale.

Our ChatGPT ads strategy runs in four stages and never skips one. First, measurement: pixel, Automatic Advanced Matching, event mapping, dynamic URL parameters, and the integrations that already carry your numbers. Second, catalogue: the product feed rebuilt for a surface where a title is the whole ad. Third, a deliberately small live test — a single product ad set and a product feed campaign, geo-targeted inside one live market, on CPC while the pixel collects enough signal for conversion-optimised CPC to mean something. Fourth, the cross-channel read: does this spend produce revenue your paid search and paid social campaigns were not already producing? Scale follows that answer. If the answer is no, we say so and move the budget, because the point of adding a channel alongside existing channels is more total profit, not a longer report.

Running this well is a digital marketing problem, not a button-clicking one. Relevance decides your CPC, messaging decides your click-through, the product feed decides whether the ad renders at all, and your organic visibility decides whether buyers already recognise the brand when they see it named in an answer. We treat those as one system with your SEO and content strategy, because on an LLM-driven surface the paid and organic sides of discovery are read by the same model in the same conversation.

03 — What we did

Two weeks to a measured launch. Then a weekly optimization loop.

Week one is discovery, audit and measurement. Week two is feed, messaging, creative and the first live campaigns. After that it is a weekly optimization loop: pacing, high intent moments review, creative rotation and structured testing, plus a monthly cross-channel reallocation call where the spend either earns more budget or gives some back. You get a named strategist and a named analyst, and no stage begins before the one before it was signed off.

Support is not a ticket queue. Your team talks to the people building the campaigns — same Slack channel, same weekly call — and both teams work from one reporting view so nobody is arguing about whose numbers are right. We have run paid media and SEO together for growth-stage brands and enterprise marketing teams for years; ChatGPT ads is a new surface, not a new discipline, and the experience that matters here is the boring kind: clear scopes, clean tracking, honest reads, and a support partner who tells you when to stop.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a ChatGPT ads agency and how does it differ from a traditional ad agency?

A ChatGPT ads agency plans, builds and manages paid placements inside ChatGPT through the OpenAI ads manager. The discipline is performance marketing; the constraints are new. There are no lookalike audiences, no interest targeting and no video ads. Buying is CPC, with conversion-optimised CPC in beta on product feed campaigns, and the product catalogue is effectively the creative. An agency that ports its paid social playbook onto this channel will build it wrong.

Are ChatGPT ads live, and which countries can I advertise in?

They are live. Advertisers can buy in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, with Brazil and Mexico rolling out. Ads appear at the bottom of a conversation, clearly labelled, to Free and Go plan users. ChatGPT ads geo targeting inside a country launched in July 2026, so local advertisers are no longer forced to buy a whole nation.

What ad formats exist on ChatGPT?

Three, today. A single product ad with a headline, a short description, an image and a link. Product feed campaigns that assemble the ad from your catalogue. And a multi-product carousel in early testing, where OpenAI — not the advertiser — decides whether a single ad or the carousel renders. There is no video inventory and no self-serve CPM brand buying yet.

How is ChatGPT ads performance measured?

With the ChatGPT web pixel, which now ships with Automatic Advanced Matching enabled by default on new pixels, and with dynamic URL parameters that carry campaign, ad group and ad IDs into your analytics. We map the conversion events that actually carry revenue, connect existing integrations such as Triple Whale, Hightouch and Sonar Optimize, and report results inside one cross-channel performance model alongside paid search and paid social.

How much should I budget to test ChatGPT ads properly?

Plan on a few thousand dollars a month across 60 to 90 days. The binding constraint is not reach, it is signal: conversion-optimised CPC needs enough pixel-verified conversions to bid intelligently, and a two-week trial produces an opinion rather than a result. If your catalogue, market or conversion volume means the honest answer is “not yet”, we will tell you before you spend.

Will ChatGPT ads cannibalise my Google Ads spend?

Partly, and that is the question worth measuring rather than assuming. Assistant conversations capture the same high intent moments paid search does, so some clicks would have arrived through Google anyway. We hold a control period, watch paid search impression share and branded volume while ChatGPT spend ramps, and judge the new placement on incremental revenue. If it is only moving spend, we say so.

Do I need a product feed to advertise on ChatGPT?

Not for single product ads, yes for product feed campaigns — and the feed campaigns are where conversion-optimised CPC is available, so most retailers want one. If you already run a Google Merchant Center feed we adapt it rather than starting over, but we rework titles and imagery for a surface where the title is read as part of an answer, not scanned in a grid.

Can service businesses and B2B brands use ChatGPT ads, or is it retail only?

Both can, with different expectations. Retail gets the full product feed machinery. Service and B2B brands run single product ads pointed at a specific offer with a hard conversion event behind it, and lean on geo targeting to keep spend inside a service area. The channel rewards specificity either way: an ad that answers the question being asked outperforms an ad that announces a company.

How do ChatGPT ads fit alongside paid search, paid social and programmatic?

As one more line in the same model. We plan paid search, paid social, programmatic and ChatGPT ads together, share creative learning across them, and reallocate monthly on marginal efficiency rather than on which channel is fashionable. The point of adding a channel alongside existing channels is more total profit, not a longer report.

What does ChatGPT ads management cost, and what is the commitment?

We quote a fixed monthly management fee against a written scope: measurement build, feed work, campaign management, creative rounds and reporting. The build month is priced separately because the measurement and catalogue work is real engineering. We ask for 90 days, because anything shorter cannot answer the incrementality question, and we do not lock accounts — the ad account, pixel and feed are yours.

Who owns the ad account, the pixel and the data?

You do. We build inside your OpenAI ads manager, your pixel and your analytics, document what we changed, and leave the reporting model behind if we part ways. No agency-owned ad accounts, no data held hostage, no rebuild tax for the next team.

Does advertising on ChatGPT help my brand get cited in AI answers?

No, and any agency claiming otherwise is guessing. Paid placements are labelled ads; organic citation inside an LLM-driven answer is earned through content, entity clarity and third-party corroboration. They are complementary, not connected: run ChatGPT ads for demand you can buy now, and a GEO and content strategy for the answers you want to appear in for free later. We run both, and we keep the claims about each honest.

Ready to run ChatGPT ads before the auction fills?
