MDF Mécanique Laval · Auto repair · Paid social launch · 2026
How a Laval repair shop bought 240 service leads for under CA$8,000
Small budget, single location, no prior paid social history. Two offer-led campaigns produced 240 tracked leads at CA$33.19 each — the kind of number a garage owner can check against their own booking calendar.

01 — The challenge
A single-location garage with no paid social history and a small budget.
MDF Mécanique is a mechanical repair shop serving Laval and the surrounding area. Auto repair is a proximity business: the addressable audience is small, competition is dense, and the customer's decision is driven by trust and convenience more than by brand.
With under CA$8,000 to work with, there was no room for a discovery phase. The launch had to produce bookings quickly enough to justify itself before the budget ran out.
“I do not need a marketing strategy, I need bays that are full on a Tuesday. Tell me what a booking costs and I will tell you if it works.”
Illustrative quote — written by Web Tonic to put the results above in an owner’s words. It is not a statement provided by the client.
That is the right frame for a business of this size, and it is why this case study has one headline metric instead of five. At CA$33 a lead against an average repair ticket, the arithmetic answers itself.
02 — Our approach
Lead with a concrete offer, keep it local, keep it simple.
On a small local budget, an offer beats branding every time. Both campaigns led with a specific, checkable incentive rather than a general message about quality service — giving the audience a reason to act now instead of remembering the shop later.
Geography was drawn tightly around the shop. Every impression outside a realistic driving distance is waste, and on a budget this size waste is not a rounding error, it is the difference between working and not working.
Structure was deliberately minimal: two campaigns, each with one clear offer, so the small volume of conversions concentrated into enough signal for delivery to learn from. Fragmenting an CA$8,000 account into six ad sets is the most common way these launches fail.
03 — What we did
Offer, radius, simplicity.
Two campaigns, one job each. Both are reported below and their rows sum exactly to the totals.
Offer-led creative
A checkable incentive, not a quality claim
Both campaigns led with a specific offer rather than general messaging about good service. On a small local budget, a reason to act now outperforms a reason to remember you later.
Drop creative view
Tight radius
Only people who could realistically drive in
Targeting was drawn around actual driving distance from the shop. At this budget, impressions outside that radius are not inefficiency, they are the whole difference between working and not.
Drop audience / location settings
Minimal structure
Two campaigns, one job each
Small accounts fail by fragmenting. Keeping structure minimal concentrated a modest conversion volume into enough signal for delivery to optimise against.
