How a countertop fabricator doubled its organic clicks
Nobody buys a quartz countertop from a search result. They start there, then spend six weeks looking at slabs, and the fabricator they found first usually stays in the running.

01 — The challenge
A long, visual, high-ticket decision competing against big-box kitchens.
Geo Stone fabricates and installs countertops in Laval — quartz, granite and engineered surfaces for kitchens and bathrooms. It is a high-ticket purchase with a long consideration window.
The competitive set is awkward: national kitchen retailers and big-box chains outrank a local fabricator on volume terms, and homeowners often do not know whether they want a material, a supplier, or a whole kitchen. The site has to be findable at all three stages.
“People come in with a photo they saved months ago. If I was not one of the shops they found back then, I never get the chance to quote at all.”
So the site had to be present early, when the decision is still about material.
02 — Our approach
Material-led content and local intent, instead of chasing big-box terms.
Coverage was built material by material — quartz against granite, durability, maintenance, cost per square foot — because that is where the decision genuinely starts and where a fabricator can outrank a retailer by knowing more.
Local and service intent was handled separately, so "countertop installer in Laval" and "is quartz better than granite" have distinct pages instead of one page trying to be both.
Clicks doubled while impressions rose 14%, which is the opposite shape from most of these accounts: the footprint barely moved, but the site started winning the queries it was already appearing for.
03 — What we did
Material comparison content, separated local intent, technical cleanup.
Winning the queries the site already appeared for.
Material comparison content
Competed on knowledge, not on budget
Quartz against granite, maintenance, cost per square foot. A fabricator can genuinely outrank a big-box retailer here because it knows the answer.
Separated local intent
Stopped one page serving two searches
Research queries and "installer near me" queries got distinct pages, which is what lifted click-through on existing impressions.
Doubled clicks on a flat footprint
1,476 → 3,025 with impressions up only 14%
The site did not appear much more often. It started being chosen when it appeared.
Specialist demand captured
Material and room-level intent
Coverage was built on the searches a fabricator can actually win — material, colour family and room — rather than on generic renovation terms owned by national retail.
04 — The results
Twelve matched months: organic clicks doubled to 3,025.
