How a Quebec store opened English Canada with 7,250 organic clicks
A second language is not a translation job. It is a second search market, with different competitors, different phrasing, and no inherited authority.

01 — The challenge
Entering Ontario from Quebec, with none of the French site's authority.
The Online Exterminator is the English-language face of the same Quebec business that sells professional-grade pest-control products online. The French store had years of accumulated authority. The English one started with none of it.
Worse, Ontario is a different competitive set. The French store's rankings transfer nothing, and English pest queries are contested by national retailers and service brands operating at a completely different scale.
“My French customers found me years ago. In Toronto I am a stranger competing with names people already trust, and translating my product pages was never going to fix that.”
So the English store was built as its own property, not as a mirror.
02 — Our approach
A separate English footprint, built for Ontario phrasing and geography.
The English store was treated as a distinct property with its own keyword research, because English-Canadian pest terminology, product naming and regulation language do not map cleanly onto the French originals.
Geographic coverage was pointed at Ontario specifically — Toronto and the surrounding region — rather than at "Canada" in the abstract, which is where the impression volume came from.
Eleven reported months, no prior year, so absolutes only. The French store's figures are reported separately on its own case study and are never blended into this one.
03 — What we did
Independent English research, Ontario geography, no translation shortcuts.
A second market treated as a second business.
Independent keyword research
Refused to translate the French site
English-Canadian pest terminology and product naming were researched from scratch, because translated French keywords describe searches nobody makes.
Ontario geography
Targeted a region, not a country
Toronto and surrounding Ontario were the focus, which is what produced 639,058 impressions on a new domain footprint.
Product-page substance
Gave the English store its own reason to rank
Treatment guidance was rewritten for the English market rather than mirrored, so the pages compete on merit against national retailers.
Separated reporting
Kept the two storefronts apart
The French store's established figures are published on its own case study. Nothing is blended, and no growth percentage is claimed on a property with no prior year.
04 — The results
Eleven months: 7,250 organic clicks in a market entered from zero.
