How we vet every listicle
Every agency featured on Web Tonic passes our 84-point editorial review before a single listicle goes live. This is how we vet each pick:
Verified client outcomes: We require real case studies with measurable KPIs — revenue, ROAS, CPA, retention — tied to the exact category being ranked. No cherry-picked wins, no unverifiable numbers.
Independent reputation: We cross-check Clutch, Google, G2, and Trustpilot ratings, and screen for review-bombing or suspicious patterns. Only operators with a consistent, verifiable track record make the cut.
Beyond that, every listing goes through a quarterly re-audit. We check 84 criteria across 6 pillars to make sure it still holds up — here are some of the checks we run:
A New York podcast production company handles the parts of a show a host cannot do alone: format and episode development, booking and remote recording direction, studio sessions with camera crews, audio editing, mixing and mastering, video cutdowns for social, plus publishing, artwork and the analytics reporting that tells a marketing team whether the show earned its budget.

We compared 21 firms on evidenced production work, publicly named clients or shows, published rates and a verified New York base. Of the 20 external companies, 15 name a client or a released show and 3 publish an hourly rate. All 20 work from Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens addresses.
Which New York podcast production company should a brand shortlist?
Shortlist on the job to be done. Hangar Studios, Pod People and Audiation run full-service branded shows end to end, SILVER and Filia Media build cinematic and narrative series, and Gotham, Wondir and Earbong sell staffed studio time by the hour.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does podcast production cost in New York?
Only three companies here publish a number, and they price studio time rather than whole shows: Earbong starts at 55 dollars an hour, Gotham Production Studios at 80 dollars an hour and Wondir Studios at 350 dollars an hour for its multi-camera Chelsea room. For full-service production, 2026 industry guides put agency work between roughly 500 and 1,500 dollars an episode, with fully produced narrative series running far higher once scripting and sound design are included.
Do we need video, or is audio enough?
Video is now the default assumption rather than an upgrade. Edison Research found that 82 percent of weekly podcast consumers actively watch video podcasts, which is why nearly every studio on this page sells multi-camera rooms alongside audio-only booths. The honest test is whether you can sustain the extra edit: a video show doubles post-production and asset volume, so a small team is often better served by strong audio plus a handful of captioned clips.
How many of these companies name their clients?
Fifteen of the 20. Hangar Studios names Microsoft and NBC, SILVER names Netflix, Google and The New York Times, Podmuse names Intel, PayPal and Sony, and Ginni Media names Siemens Healthineers. The rest publish show names rather than brand names, which is normal for producers working under white-label agreements where the client never appears in the credits.
What is the difference between a studio and a production agency?
A studio sells the room, the gear and an engineer for the session; a production agency owns the show. Earbong, Gotham Production Studios, Wondir Studios and Vizzcast lead with bookable space, while Pod People, Audiation, Filia Media and The Peers Project develop the format, direct the guests, edit every episode and handle distribution. Booking a room when you actually needed a producer is the most common budget mistake here.
What should we ask on the first call?
Ask who edits, because several entries are small teams where the founder cuts every episode. Then ask for one named show and its download or view numbers, how many revision rounds are inside the episode fee, whether video cutdowns and show notes are included or billed separately, who owns the raw files and feed, and what happens to the show if the assigned producer leaves.
Choosing a Podcast Partner in New York
Decide what you are buying first. Roughly half the entries here sell staffed studio time and half sell a finished show. A room in Midtown will not fix a format nobody wants, and a full-service producer is expensive if all you needed was a quiet booth and an engineer for an afternoon.
Read the credits, not the gear list. Fifteen of the 20 external companies name a client or a released show, and those credits tell you far more than a camera inventory. Narrative work, business-to-business interview shows and celebrity chat all demand different producers, so match the shelf your show sits on.
Price the whole season. Only three companies publish rates, all hourly. Ask every shortlisted firm to quote the same season: episode count, guest booking, edit rounds, video cutdowns, artwork and publishing, so the proposals compare line by line rather than by headline hourly rate.
Plan the audience before the microphone. A show without distribution is a hobby. If you want the creative, the paid promotion and the New York team in one place, read the latest analysis or start here.
