Montreal Podcast Production Companies: On the Island and Off It in 2026 — Web Tonic blog thumbnail

How we vet every listicle

Every agency featured on Web Tonic passes our 84-point editorial review before a single listicle goes live. This is how we vet each pick:

Verified client outcomes: We require real case studies with measurable KPIs — revenue, ROAS, CPA, retention — tied to the exact category being ranked. No cherry-picked wins, no unverifiable numbers.

Independent reputation: We cross-check Clutch, Google, G2, and Trustpilot ratings, and screen for review-bombing or suspicious patterns. Only operators with a consistent, verifiable track record make the cut.

Beyond that, every listing goes through a quarterly re-audit. We check 84 criteria across 6 pillars to make sure it still holds up — here are some of the checks we run:

Case study recency
Entity age & registration
LinkedIn footprint
Portfolio authenticity
Client reference checks
Review authenticity
Ad account ban history
Editorial response time
Pricing transparency
Award verification

A Montreal podcast production company handles everything around the microphone: format and episode planning, studio or on-location recording, multi-camera video capture, editing, mixing and mastering, then artwork, show notes, hosting and distribution setup, plus the vertical clips that carry a show onto social feeds.

Editorial photograph of an empty podcast studio in a Montreal Plateau brick loft with two microphones on boom arms, a small mixer on a wooden table and dark acoustic panelling, lit by soft grey Quebec daylight through an arched window

We checked these 18 companies on evidenced podcast work, clients named on their own websites, rates published there, and a verified address. Fourteen are on the island of Montreal; four work from Laval, Longueuil or Chateauguay. Four publish a rate, four name a client, and three claims were reset.

Which Montreal podcast production company should a business shortlist?

Shortlist by product. Virage Sonore, Blabla Studio, Archetype Studio Montreal, OnPod Studios, Parenthese Studio and OK Studio sell bookable rooms. A la trois Media, Pilgrim Content Marketing, Studio SF, Magneto and Contexta Media take responsibility for finished shows.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does podcast production cost in Montreal?

Four of these eighteen publish rates, all for studio time rather than finished shows. Blabla Studio starts at 150 Canadian dollars a session plus tax, OnPod Studios at 150 dollars an hour or 500 dollars a month, Archetype Studio Montreal at 300 dollars for a 90-minute session, and Virage Sonore at 89 dollars an hour of studio time or 200 dollars an episode a la carte. Two figures we found elsewhere were not on the firms' own sites and were reset.

How many of these companies are really in Montreal?

Fourteen of the eighteen publish an address on the island, from Delorimier Avenue and Saint-Laurent Boulevard to Chabanel Ouest and the Saint-Laurent borough. Four are off-island and say so: Phonique works from Laval, Pour Vrai Marketing and OK Studio from Longueuil on the south shore, and Studio Quinze describes itself as just outside Montreal, in Chateauguay. For a weekly recording day, that commute is the decision.

Which Montreal firms name the clients behind the work?

Four of the eighteen. Pilgrim Content Marketing names Softchoice and SHI International, Magneto names Radio-Canada, Contexta Media names the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, and La Converse names the Filles d'Action Foundation. Three further credits, including a software client and two cultural institutions, appeared nowhere on the firms' own pages, so we reset them rather than repeat them here.

Should I book a room, a producer or an agency here?

They are three separate purchases. Virage Sonore, Blabla Studio, Archetype Studio Montreal, OnPod Studios, Parenthese Studio, 760 Media, OK Studio and Studio Quinze sell treated space and technician time. A la trois Media, La Converse, Pour Vrai Marketing, Studio SF, Magneto, Contexta Media and Phonique own finished, distributed shows. Pilgrim Content Marketing, Orko Media and Mythic Hare Media run podcasting inside content marketing, video or positioning practices.

Is a French-language show a different buy in Montreal?

Usually yes, and the market reflects it. The Institut de la statistique du Quebec found 49 percent of Quebecers aged 15 and over listened to podcasts in 2024, rising to 68 percent of those aged 15 to 29. Several firms here produce in French first, some work bilingually, and a few only sell room time. Ask which language the producer, the editor and the show notes writer actually work in before signing.

Choosing a Podcast Partner in Montreal

The island is the dividing line. Fourteen of the eighteen publish a Montreal address and four are in Laval, Longueuil or Chateauguay. Every one of them discloses it, but a south-shore studio changes what a weekly recording day costs your guests in travel.

Four published rates, all for rooms. Eighty-nine dollars an hour and 300 dollars a session buy studio time, not an accountable show. Ask every shortlisted firm to price the same brief, including edit rounds, clips, artwork and who publishes the feed.

Three claims did not survive the check. Two client credits and one per-episode price we found off-site were absent from the firms' own pages, so we reset them. Request two contactable references and written confirmation of who owns the feed, the artwork and the raw files.

Plan the audience before the microphone. If you want the creative, the paid promotion and an integrated team from one partner, read the latest analysis or start here.
