How we vet every listicle
Every agency featured on Web Tonic passes our 84-point editorial review before a single listicle goes live. This is how we vet each pick:
Verified client outcomes: We require real case studies with measurable KPIs — revenue, ROAS, CPA, retention — tied to the exact category being ranked. No cherry-picked wins, no unverifiable numbers.
Independent reputation: We cross-check Clutch, Google, G2, and Trustpilot ratings, and screen for review-bombing or suspicious patterns. Only operators with a consistent, verifiable track record make the cut.
Beyond that, every listing goes through a quarterly re-audit. We check 84 criteria across 6 pillars to make sure it still holds up — here are some of the checks we run:
A Detroit podcast production company turns an idea into a publishable show: format design, studio or on-location recording, multi-camera video capture, editing, mixing and mastering, then artwork, show notes, transcripts, hosting and distribution setup, plus the vertical clips that carry a show onto social feeds.

We checked these 18 companies on evidenced podcast work, clients named on their own websites, rates published there, and a verified address. Four publish a Detroit address. The other fourteen work from Troy, Birmingham, Ferndale, Brighton, Royal Oak, Southfield, Westland, Clarkston or Bloomfield Township. Three name a client and three publish a price.
Which Detroit podcast production company should a business shortlist?
Shortlist by product. JAG Podcast Productions, Podcast Nation, Speakeasy Studios and Loud Mouth Broadcast own finished shows. PodLab, EVRY Media, LIT, Detroit Podcasting Company and podcaststudio:detroit rent rooms. Pluto, Bureau Detroit, Make The Turn and Effigy fold podcasting into agency work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does podcast production cost in Detroit?
Three of these eighteen companies publish prices on their own sites. Loud Mouth Broadcast lists complete plans at 2,697 dollars for three months, 5,394 for six and 10,788 for a year. Speakeasy Studios publishes a 1,500 dollar one-time onboarding fee for every new show. PodLab Studios lists 650 dollars for a one-hour on-site shoot plus 150 dollars for each extra hour, with published add-ons. Rates reported elsewhere for Detroit Podcasting Company, EVRY Media and LIT Podcast Studios were not on their own sites when we checked, so we show them as quote-based.
How many of these companies are really in Detroit?
Four of the eighteen. Detroit Podcasting Company records inside the Detroit Shipping Company venue, podcaststudio:detroit is on Park Avenue with a second room in Canton, Bureau has been a Detroit agency since 2012, and Audio Engineers of Detroit is a Black woman-owned studio inside the Hannan Center in Midtown. Everything else is suburban: Troy holds Podcast Nation, Pluto and Make The Turn, Birmingham holds JAG and Soapbox, Ferndale holds Blend and M-1, Brighton holds Loud Mouth and Speakeasy, and Westland, Royal Oak, Southfield, Clarkston and Bloomfield Township hold one each.
Which Detroit firms name the clients they have worked with?
Only three, which is low for a metro this size. Soapbox Studios names SAY Detroit and DBusiness Magazine and works with a Grammy-winning engineering team. Bureau names Heirloom Hospitality, Perennial Corktown and Highlands. Inner Circle Studio credits the Higher Ed Storytelling University podcast. Detroit Podcasting Company points to IT in the D, its own long-running show with more than five hundred episodes. Everyone else describes work by category, so ask for two references and one recent unedited episode.
Is a room, a producer or an agency the right buy here?
Three separate purchases. PodLab Studios, EVRY Media, LIT Podcast Studios, podcaststudio:detroit, Blend Productions, M-1 Studios and Detroit Podcasting Company sell treated space, cameras and engineering time. JAG Podcast Productions, Podcast Nation, Speakeasy Studios and Loud Mouth Broadcast take responsibility for a finished, distributed show, often on a multi-month plan. Pluto, Bureau, Make The Turn, Inner Circle and Effigy Media Arts run podcasting inside wider marketing, branding and video practices.
Does the show need cameras, or is audio enough?
Cameras, for almost any business show. Edison Research recorded video overtaking audio-only for the first time in the third quarter of 2025: 82 percent of weekly podcast consumers actively watch, against 78 percent who listen audio-only. Several Detroit studios were built for that, with three-camera setups and clip delivery included. National money is following the same curve, with IAB and PwC putting US podcast ad revenue at 2.862 billion dollars for 2025, up 17.6 percent, though that spend reaches national shows, not local ones.
Choosing a Podcast Partner in Detroit
This is a suburban market with a Detroit name. Four of these eighteen companies publish a city address; the rest sit in Troy, Birmingham, Ferndale, Brighton and the rest of Oakland and Wayne County. Most are honest about it on their own sites, and the two Brighton studios are forty-five minutes out, so check the drive before the pitch.
Three published prices, and they are far apart. A one-hour on-site shoot at 650 dollars, a 1,500 dollar onboarding fee, and full-year production at 10,788 dollars are three different products. Everything else is quoted, so send one identical written scope and compare replies line by line.
References are thin, so demand them. Only three firms name a client publicly. Ask for two contactable references, the last unedited episode the team cut, and confirmation of who owns the feed and the raw files when the contract ends.
Plan the audience before the microphone. If you want the creative, the paid promotion and an integrated team from one partner, read the latest analysis or start here.
