How we vet every listicle
Every agency featured on Web Tonic passes our 84-point editorial review before a single listicle goes live. This is how we vet each pick:
Verified client outcomes: We require real case studies with measurable KPIs — revenue, ROAS, CPA, retention — tied to the exact category being ranked. No cherry-picked wins, no unverifiable numbers.
Independent reputation: We cross-check Clutch, Google, G2, and Trustpilot ratings, and screen for review-bombing or suspicious patterns. Only operators with a consistent, verifiable track record make the cut.
Beyond that, every listing goes through a quarterly re-audit. We check 84 criteria across 6 pillars to make sure it still holds up — here are some of the checks we run:
A LinkedIn Ads agency runs the paid side of LinkedIn for a business: building audiences from job title, seniority, company list or matched CRM data, producing and buying Sponsored Content, Document, Video and Message Ads, wiring Lead Gen Forms and the Insight Tag into a CRM, and reporting what each submission became. San Francisco's supply is unusually LinkedIn-native, with several shops founded by people who ran paid social inside platform and agency teams.

We checked 14 external agencies alongside Web Tonic on evidenced LinkedIn work, publicly named clients, published rates and a verified Bay Area base. Twelve name a client, two publish a starting rate, and five are headquartered in San Francisco proper.
Which San Francisco LinkedIn Ads agency should you shortlist?
Match the evidence to your stage. Closing Media, TB3 Digital and ROI-DNA are LinkedIn-first shops with named software clients; Metric Theory, Walker Sands and Just Global bring enterprise scale; Otter and Dyad Marketing are the only two publishing rates.
1. Web Tonic
About: Web Tonic treats LinkedIn as a paid channel with a cost of pipeline, not a brand-awareness line item, so a San Francisco programme starts from the offer and the target account list and ends at a closed-won number. The campaign work sits beside our paid social team running the buy, the performance creative practice producing the document, video and thought-leader variants the feed burns through, and the analytics implementation that pushes Lead Gen Form submissions into the CRM so cost per opportunity is visible. Buyers who want a team inside the Bay Area venture network, or one that has only ever run LinkedIn, will find several of the agencies below closer to that brief than we are.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a San Francisco LinkedIn Ads engagement cost?
Two agencies here publish figures: Otter from 2,500 US dollars a month and Dyad Marketing from 760 dollars a month, both LinkedIn-focused scopes. The rest quote per engagement, and published guidance puts a typical small-agency retainer for a defined LinkedIn scope at 2,500 to 7,500 dollars a month on top of media. On the media side, US B2B clicks are reported at 8 to 10 dollars, impressions around 34 dollars per thousand, and Lead Gen Form cost per lead at 75 to 110 dollars. Ask what creative production is included before comparing two retainers.
How many of these agencies are actually in San Francisco?
Five are headquartered in the city itself, and we label the rest rather than dropping them. Metric Theory, SevenAtoms and Walker Sands run staffed San Francisco offices from headquarters in the Monks network, Dublin California and Chicago. TimeZ Marketing and Sembyotic sit in San Jose and Early June across the wider Bay Area. Otter works from continental Europe, Dyad Marketing from Minneapolis and Project 33 from Berlin, all three serving named Bay Area clients remotely, and Just Global lists a San Francisco headquarters while some third-party databases show an Emeryville address.
Why does this page list fewer agencies than a typical city guide?
Because we only publish agencies with public evidence of managed LinkedIn campaigns on their own domain, and San Francisco is full of firms that mention LinkedIn without ever showing a campaign. Lead-list tools, cold-email shops, personal branding services and organic ghostwriters were all excluded, along with anyone whose only proof sat in a directory profile. Fourteen external agencies cleared that bar, naming clients including Workday, ServiceMax, Drift, Zuora, Vanta, Pilot, Carta, SafetyWing and Model N. A shorter honest list beats a padded one.
Is a LinkedIn-only agency better than a full-service one?
It depends on how much else needs to move. LinkedIn-only shops such as Closing Media, TB3 Digital and Otter live inside Campaign Manager daily and tend to be sharper on audience construction, bidding and creative iteration. Full-service teams matter more when LinkedIn has to run alongside search, Meta and lifecycle marketing with one attribution model behind them. Ask each shortlisted agency what happens when LinkedIn is not the right channel for a given offer, and listen for whether the answer costs them revenue.
What should the agreement cover before campaigns start?
Ownership of the ad account, the Insight Tag, the audiences and the conversion setup should stay with you at the end of the engagement. Set the monthly creative commitment and who produces it, because Bay Area B2B audiences are small and fatigue quickly. Define which event counts as the reported result and how long the reporting window runs, since enterprise software cycles stretch across quarters. Agree the notice period and what happens to matched audience lists on exit, then hold the first review against pipeline rather than lead count.
Choosing a San Francisco LinkedIn Ads Agency
Start from your stage. A seed-stage company proving one channel and a post-IPO business defending an enterprise pipeline need different agencies, and several shops here state plainly which end of that range they serve.
Read for named accounts. Twelve of the 14 external agencies name clients outright, and the strongest evidence is specific: 178,000 dollars of net new revenue from 21,000 dollars of spend, 129,000 dollars of pipeline from a 9,000 dollar test, and a 51 percent lift in leads on a research report campaign.
Location is a service question here. Only five of these agencies are headquartered in San Francisco proper, with others working in from San Jose, Chicago, Minneapolis, Berlin and continental Europe, so decide whether same-time-zone availability actually matters to your team before it filters the list.
Judge it on pipeline, not on leads. LinkedIn will produce form fills at almost any budget, so agree up front which downstream number the spend has to move and how long it gets. If you want paid social buying, creative production and revenue-level reporting from one team, read the latest analysis or book a call.
