How we vet every listicle
Every agency featured on Web Tonic passes our 84-point editorial review before a single listicle goes live. This is how we vet each pick:
Verified client outcomes: We require real case studies with measurable KPIs — revenue, ROAS, CPA, retention — tied to the exact category being ranked. No cherry-picked wins, no unverifiable numbers.
Independent reputation: We cross-check Clutch, Google, G2, and Trustpilot ratings, and screen for review-bombing or suspicious patterns. Only operators with a consistent, verifiable track record make the cut.
Beyond that, every listing goes through a quarterly re-audit. We check 84 criteria across 6 pillars to make sure it still holds up — here are some of the checks we run:
A graphic design agency owns the visual system a business trades on: logo and identity, the typography and colour rules holding it together, packaging and label artwork, brochures and sell sheets, signage and vehicle graphics, and the artwork feeding advertising channels. Lubbock is a Texas Tech and agriculture town, and its studios sit along 82nd Street, 34th Street and Milwaukee Avenue rather than in a design district.

We reviewed 19 external studios alongside Web Tonic on evidenced design work, publicly named clients, published pricing and a verified address. Four name a client outright, not one publishes a rate, and seventeen work from Lubbock proper.
Why do so few Lubbock studios name their clients?
Only four of the nineteen publish a client name on their own site, while seventeen publish a street address. It is an unusually private market for one so rooted in place, so two contactable references matter more here than the portfolio does.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Lubbock studios name the brands they work for?
Four of the nineteen. RD Thomas Advertising names Texas Tech University, the Buddy Holly Hall, Market Street and Hi-Pro Feeds, The Owen Group names the Texas Tech University System, Covenant and Gerwig Family Dental, Stallings Design Co names Wicked Beaver Brewery, the Lubbock Children's Home and the Texas Tech Alumni Association, and GriffinWink Advertising names Schlotzsky's. The other fifteen anonymise every case study, so ask each of them for two contactable references.
What does graphic design cost in Lubbock?
No studio on this page publishes a rate card. One figure appeared on a third-party profile and could not be traced to the studio's own site, so we left it out rather than repeat it. Write a deliverable list naming every file, format and application you need, then send that identical list to three studios. Comparable quotes on one scope expose differences that an hourly rate hides completely.
Is every studio on this page actually in Lubbock?
Seventeen of the nineteen are. HG Creative is headquartered in Seminole, Texas and serves Lubbock clients from a Wolfforth office, which its own about page states plainly. LuckyTamm Marketing Group is headquartered in Rio Rancho, New Mexico and runs a staffed Lubbock office on 82nd Street. Both work here regularly, but neither is a Lubbock company, and we say so on their entries rather than dropping them.
Who handles signage, vehicle wraps and large format work?
That bench is separate from the identity studios. Elite Graphics has produced signage and large format print in Lubbock since 1996, Digit10 Designs and Beaverbird Media cover print and display production alongside design, and TAG Design grew out of a Lubbock automotive magazine. For pure identity and packaging the picture shifts to Jackalope Creative, Stallings Design Co, Poppyseed Creative and Studio Honeybee instead.
What should be agreed before you pay a deposit?
A deliverable list naming every file and format, a capped number of concept routes and revision rounds, a schedule with named checkpoints, and an explicit statement of what transfers to you on final payment. In a market where fifteen of nineteen studios keep their client list private, add two contactable references to that list. Typeface licensing does not transfer automatically, so name it in the contract before the deposit clears.
Choosing a Graphic Design Agency in Lubbock
References do the work the portfolios will not. Only four of nineteen studios name a client publicly, the quietest market of its size we have measured, so anonymised category work should always come with two clients you can telephone.
Addresses are not the deciding factor here. Seventeen firms publish a Lubbock address, one is headquartered in Seminole and one in Rio Rancho with a staffed local office, so spend your diligence on evidenced work rather than on checking who is local.
Separate the production shops from the identity studios. Signage, wraps and large format print are a different craft from brand identity and packaging, and the Lubbock firms carrying real work in each are clearly different businesses.
Fix the money and the files before the deposit clears. With no published rate anywhere on this page, a written deliverable list, a revision cap and clarity on artwork ownership and typeface licensing are your only real protection. If you would rather have identity design, campaign creative and web build handled by one team, read our latest analysis or book a call.
