PPC, or Pay Per Click (PPC), is an innovative marketing strategy designed to promote a company's products or services online in order to generate action. How does this system work and what are its advantages? We'll answer this question before presenting a brief comparison between two well-known platforms dedicated to creating PPC advertising: Google Ads and Facebook Ads.

How PPC Works

The goal of the PPC system is to promote a product, service, or brand online and encourage customers to purchase or sign up. To do this, the company posts an ad on any platform, such as a search engine or social network. The amount paid is proportional to the number of clicks generated by the ad, hence the name Pay Per Click. In other words, each time someone clicks on your ad, you must pay a sum, already agreed upon in advance, to the platform on which it was published.

Example of how PPC works

Let's say you ran an ad on Google for $2 per click. This means it appears every time someone searches for the relevant keywords. However, you only have to pay the platform if the person clicks on your ad. So, if the ad appeared 200 times in one day but only generated 150 clicks, you'd pay 150 x $2, or $300.

The Benefits of PPC

One of the biggest advantages of PPC is that you only pay for concrete results. Ads that don't generate clicks aren't billed. Also, you can quickly make changes to the post if it seems like it's not working. Furthermore, this strategy is more effective because it's much easier to convert a click into action if your website is well-designed.

Google Ads VS Facebook Ads

Google Ads and Facebook Ads are platforms for creating PPC advertising. What are the differences between them?

  • Google Ads targets people who are searching for the company's products, as ads only appear when the user enters the relevant keywords.
  • With Facebook Ads, ads appear based on the user's behavior on the network and their interests, even if they haven't conducted any research about the product.
  • Therefore, a targeted Google user is likely ready to buy but is looking for the best deals, while a Facebook user may not intend to buy, but their opinion can be influenced if the ad appears at the right time.

In any case, both the ad and the linking site must be attractive to generate maximum action.
